An unexpected and wonderful one watch routine
I haven't posted in a while because I've been boring. A few years ago in attempt to consolidate the collection I fell into this Greubel Forsey Signature 1. It didn't make sense to me at first - checked none of the boxes that I normally look for in a watch. No lume, too small, no real wr, time on a subdial, no hacking seconds on the smallest running seconds hand ever, etc. but there was something about the design that calling me back. Eventually I fell down the rabbit hole, hard, and it was all over for me, more so than I knew. I thought this would be a special occasion watch, a dress watch, but instead the initial honeymoon period just never ended and it turned into my edc. From NYC subways and NJ bowling alleys to meetings in Seoul and tea farms in China, the watch has become part of my everyday routine. I wind it everyday over coffee, its a daily ritual now that gives me a chance to enjoy the other side of the watch.
